The best views in the Shenandoah Valley

Basye, pronounced "Bay see" is a tiny little village in the western part of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, but a just a few miles from the Virginia/West Virginia border - as the crow flies. Most that are from other areas want to spell it Bayse, but it is actually spelled Basye.
It sits west between Harrisonburg and Winchester - only 12 miles off of I-81.

The place to stay with the best views is Sky Chalet Mountain Lodge. The views from Sky Chalet Mtn Lodge should not be missed ! The history of Sky Chalet Mountain Lodge goes back to 1937. Staying here is like waking up every morning to your own personal view !

Though the village of Basye is small, it is the home of Bryce Resort, a four season resort, which has everything from snow sports, such as skiing, tubing, and boarding to an excellent 18 hole golf course, to a 45 acre lake, to summer tubing, grass skiing, and zipline.
There are lots of other attractions in the area also.
The beauty of Basye is much like the rest of the
Shenandoah Valley - something that you would see in a picturesque magazine.

Surrounded by mountains and valleys, this is where city folk (and even some country folk) come to catch a breath of fresh air; to renew their spirit; to enter a world unlike their own.

It is so close to DC - 2 hours - and to Richmond - 3 hours; yet a world apart.

We'd love to share our little village of Basye, the amenities of Bryce Resort and the lodging and views at Sky Chalet Mountain Lodge with you !
